June Income Report (Plus my Internship Model)

Hey,

June 2025 was another full month of building out my course.

I’m 11 weeks deep now.

I haven’t published a piece of content in 11 weeks because I’ve just had my head down on this course.

It’s a strange feeling.

June Income Report

  • YouTube Channel 1: $1393.73 (AdSense)
  • YouTube Channel 2: $205.62 (AdSense) + $166.20 (Digital Products)
  • YouTube Channel 3: $257.60 (AdSense)
  • “Pinterest” Niche Site: $1831.93 (Mediavine)

June Total: $3854.08 (A small 5-10% summer dip. Nothing to worry about. Q4 will make up for it.)

2025 So Far…

  • January: $2,283.66
  • February: $3,189.12
  • March: $4,311.43
  • April: $4,140.18
  • May: $4,044.69 + $3025 (digital product launch)
  • June: $3854.08

First 6 Months: $24,848.16

Will the course even sell or have I wasted 3 months of my life…

11+ weeks to make a course that might be a complete flop. Am I crazy?

I have to return to my premise:

  • Proof of concept: I get sales for a $25 digital download of a product that solves part of this problem (proof of concept?)
  • Competition is good: There’s a massive multimillion dollar competitor in this niche who I believe I can outdo with content marketing

Does it even matter if the course sells?… (My internship model explained)

I’ve got this philosophy right now that goes something like this:

  • The year consists of four 3-month seasons.
  • Spend 3 months building a business
  • Let it sit
  • Try another business for the next 3 months
  • Repeat 4 times a year.

Essentially, I’m giving myself 4 chances per year to build a business.

(Okay, this course might take 6 months - so I’ll give myself 3 chances this year).

Here’s the idea behind this philosophy:

  • Have a good crack: 3 months is a genuine commitment. It’s real effort, not surface-level attempts.
  • Plenty of chances: I only need one knock-out success and I’ve got many, many attempts to get it right.
  • Success will come: Therefore, I just need to be patient. Success is inevitable (unless I give up).

Track record so far (I know it’s confusing to keep up - I’ve been trying a lot of stuff):

  • Facebook Ads -> Daily Newsletter: I committed 2 months to this in Summer 2024 and it was a total flop.
  • “Pinterest” Website: I committed about a combined 3 months to this in February 2024 + November/December 2024. It’s generating over $20,000 a year in passive income right now.
  • Evergreen Faceless YouTube Channels: I’ve committed about 4 months to this, cumulatively, since December 2023. The channels are generating over $20,000 a year in passive income right now.
  • Digital Product YouTube Channel (May 2025): This took me 1.5 months to build and it’s made $3025 so far. I believe it will come back in and out of season a few times a year and also make me $10,000 per year going forward.

So, we’re talking 3 moderate successes out of 4 completed attempts … and at the end of each, I was able to pause and assess whether I should carry on or look for another idea.

The clear risk is I find “moderate success” and fail to see that it could have been a “raging success” if I just committed a bit longer.

But also ... 3 months is long enough to get a feel for:

  1. Do I like this business model or am I going to hate my life if I continue?
  2. Could this idea scale to the moon or will it cap out at a low figure?

So, that’s why I call it the internship model. I have a good hard go at an idea for 3 months and see if it’s for me, then move on until I find “the one”.

Anyway, curious what you think about this model.

Happy July,

Chris.
